My Notes: GDC 2014 – Day 1 – The Arrival

The GDC 2014 in San Francisco happened one month ago and I am going to bring you a post every day like a diary for the next few days =)
This was my first GDC in the States and I took a some pictures and wrote a lot of notes about my daily stuff, the talks and what I have experienced.

Its the first day of my trip, a Sunday in Munich Germany… ready for takeoff!

My company Travian Games sent 4 of my colleagues (Rich, Jan, Harald and Steven) and me to San Francisco to visit one of the best known conferences for developers world wide. On this Sunday we flew over the great ocean to the other end of the World. So after a few cheap burger at MC Donalds we went to our gate and started the ~12h flight. Despite we are having a lot of good movies to watch and some great views on the landscape, for me as a 1,87 m guy, the seats were quite uncomfortable.

After our arrival at SF airport we took the BAT to our hotel, at first we tried to get a taxi but there were none (srsly… an airport with no taxi left… cmon). Our hotel (Hotel Stratfort) was next to the Union Square, nothing special but very clean and right in the middle of everything important for us. I had no time to be overwhelmed by this huge city, I went up to my room und slept the whole night with a little jetlag ;)

We startet at about 1pm in Munich and were at our hotel at about 10pm, between this we had this 12h flight.
